About the Recipe

This Cinnamon Apple Galette is the perfect cozy night delight, whether enjoyed on its own or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! I used my pie crust recipe and crafted this incredibly light and delicious treat with just half of the dough. Plus, it's gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free!

Ridiculously easy to put together, yet guaranteed to make others scratch their heads and wonder, "Is she secretly a magician?"

Ingredients

  • 1 galette dough (see recipe here)

  • 4 - 5 apples (peeled and cored)

  • 1.5 - 2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 2 Tbsp coconut sugar (+1Tbsp to sprinkle the top of the galette)

  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Preparation

  1. You want to first start off by washing, peeling, and coring your apples

  2. now slice the apples into thin slices, and place them in a bowl

  3. Now, in the bowl, add your cinnamon, coconut sugar, and lemon juice. Give it a nice mix.

  4. Transfer the contents of the bowl into a pan and lightly saute the apples until softened. Remove from heat.

  5. While that cools, start to roll out the galette dough into a somewhat even circle.

  6. Gently place the sautéed apples in the middle, leaving about 2 inches from the side clear.

  7. Gently fold over the sides of the dough, ensuring there are no rips/tears.

  8. Brush the edges of the dough with some egg wash or almond milk. Then sprinkle on the remainder of the coconut sugar.

  9. Pop it in the oven for about 35 minutes, or until slightly golden.

  10. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving.

  11. Serve it as is, or sift some powdered sugar on top, or just a nice scoop of ice cream. Either way, it'll be a crowd pleaser... Enjoy!
